Mindanao 2012: Cagayan De Oro

Day 3: Cagayan De Oro, Misamis Oriental

From Bukidnon, our friends took us at a Pasalubong store to buy some goodies then dropped us off at Marco Hotel. It's time for us to say our byes to them, very kind people.

RM301, cottage is made of dark wood. It is near the pool and is the closest cottage to the main building.

As we indulged ourselves in the hot pool after dinner to relax,  Angel, who opt to stay at our cottage, came frantically and told us that there's a 'ghost' in our room. The room's lighting is actually a bit dim and the comfort room's mirror is too huge. I actually felt something spooky when we entered the room but ignored it. Scared of going back, we asked the receptionist to give us a room within the main building and luckily they have a vacant deluxe room at the 2nd floor. The ambience is better and we all did sleep well.

The Messy Room.
It's Monday and I forgot to turn off the alarm, so it goes off at 5:30 and I had a hard time going back to sleep. So what I did is, I wake everybody up and convinced them to just go around and explore the area.

Malasag Eco-Village is just 3.5 Kilometers away, we rented 2 Habal-Habals (Motorcycle) for Php150 each to take us up the hill. The breeze of morning brushing through our skin is refreshingly cool. It is the best time for motorcycle ride!

There's nothing much to see at Malasag Eco Tourism Village. Entrance Fee: Php10 each. There are just some tribal houses, animals, fauna, and flora around the area.

1.5 Kilometer away from the Eco-Village is Mapawa Adventure Park. Php50 each. There are activities in the area too, but we're there just for sight-seeing and picture-taking.

Tired, we went straight to buffet breakfast and gulped in a King's meal! Busog much... nap after =D

We packed up and checked out by 12:30 then stopped over at SM CDO to kill time. We still had enough to watch a movie! =D

The beautiful sunset.

Metro Manila we are back, good to see you again!

Mindanao Adventure 2012: Kampo Juan

Day 2: Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon (Part 5)

We are finally passing through the pineapple plantation at daylight so we didn't miss the opportunity to click some shots:

Not originally on our itinerary is Kampo Juan. Entrance Fee: Php50 each pax.

Sid and Poppy just insisted we must go there if we're up to another extreme challenge. We accepted it but as we saw what it is, our jaw-dropped and have to say 'No' this time. 'Though my friends told me, Richard Guttierez has done it on his TV show, We just don't want to risk our lives! Hah!

Rates: All activities (zipline, anicycle, hanging bridge, rapelling) Php600; Anicyle only (1-way) Php300.

The Anicycle is a first in Asia. You have to ride a bicycle and drive your way to the other side through a single cable. Below is a deep ravine with a running river. It seems safe and I honestly wanted to try but I just can't get all the courage that I need that time. Better luck next time!

On the other hand, we enjoyed the place. It has a one of a kind Comfort Room and the chairs and tables are made of old tires.

The Toilet Door.

The recycled tires, now tables and chairs!

Before leaving Kampo Juan, I was able to take this amazing photo! Love it! =)

A whole day of fun and adventure in Bukidnon can't fit in a single post so I divide it into 5 parts.  Overall, Bukidnon, with lots of activities to offer and wonderful views of nature, it is a great place for family and friends!

Hope you enjoyed it and we still have 1 more day in Mindanao. Read on my next post about Cagayan de Oro! =)

Mindanao Adventure 2012: Dahilayan Gardens and Resort

Day 2: Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon (Part 4)

Dahilayan Garden and Resort is the perfect place for pre-nups and wedding receptions. It can also accommodate campers, a good place for family bonding and a great escape for couples looking for a privacy with romantic but adventurous ambience.

Entrance Fee: Php60/pax

There are also some activities available such as jetboating, waterslide, horseback-riding and fishing. Check their website for the rates: http://dahilayangardensandresort.com/amenities/

By lunchtime, Sid and Poppy brought us at Pinutos Restaurant (Pinutos means Binalot). Then off we go to Kampo Juan for our last stop in Bukidnon.

Mindanao Adventure 2012: Dahilayan Forest Park

Day 2: Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon (Part 3)

Forest Park is just beside the Adventure Park, but it is more scenic. Aside from activity area, it also has a picnic ground, cafe, and playground.

Entrance Fee: Php100/pax

Let me tour you around and enjoy the view before I get you to AstroZorb and Tree-top Adventure!

Now let's try to balance ourselves at the playground's balancing pad...

then roll inside a bubble ball! The AstroZorb! Php250/pax. Refundable.

LJ and Angel went first...  And down the hill they went.. turning.. flipping.. bouncing...

But when it's our turn, I backed out, I told kuya to unbuckle me coz I'm already suffering from soffucation. And so, Gi and I just climbed the pine trees and became monkeys for a day. =) We exchanged our passes to Tree-top Adventure which has the same price of Php250/pax.

We bought ice cream to fight off the stinging heat of the sun before going to Dahilayan Gardens and Resort.

Mindanao Adventure 2012: Dahilayan Adventure Park

It's 8:30 AM and we're ready to have some fun!

Our itinerary for today includes Dahilayan Adventure Park, Dahilayan Forest Park, Dahilayan Gardens & Resort and Kampo Juan.

Next challenge, LJ dared to try the Dropzone... and she took me with her. OMG! Imagine diving from 120 feet high, head first. I thought my internal organs were mixed up after the ride! Hah! extremely fun!

Php500 for Single Person; Php750 for Dual.

There are official photographers to take your souvenir photos and you can purchase it along with a certificate at designated booths. Php100 for a photo w/ certificate and add'l Php50 for extra photo.

Mindanao Adventure 2012: Manolo Fortich

From Iligan City, we headed to Bukidnon. It is approximately 3 to 4-hour drive. The long and bumpy road going to Brgy Dahilayan is dark, quiet and somewhat scary. Driving through hectares of pineapple plantation by night is definitely not advisable. Sitting still, eyes wide open, I started thinking "what ifs". I deeply prayed to God for his protection and at long last, we safely arrived at Saddle Ridge Camp at around 10 o'clock in the evening.

Standard Room: Php2,000 good for 4pax.

Day 2: Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon (Part 1)

I set my alarm at 5:30 AM in the hopes of catching the morning fog and capture some shots with it but because we're too tired, nobody heard the alarm. Sad. Unaware of what's outside, we went to explore the area. It's cold, the air is fresh and green is everywhere. I was thrilled to find out we're on top of a mountain! Here are some of the photos taken:

After picture-taking, we ate our breakfast, took a bath and prepared ourselves for the whole day adventure!
